For those who work or live over in the Whitebridge area, this cool café space won’t exactly be news to you, but for those of you who are frequent visitors to the area, you’ll be wanting to add Whitebridge to your ‘to check out’ list once you hear all about their newest café space; Morning Market Coffee.

Brought to us by Newcastle locals and siblings, Thomas & Nova Carias-Cox, Morning Market Coffee has been gracing the local crowd with their daily coffee offering and baked goods. The pair have a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, after growing up around their family businesses in Newcastle and continuing working in the industry into adulthood.

“Both of us have grown up in our family business since we were kids, so the industry is in our blood,” Thomas shared.

Following the launch of Thomas' Bar Romeo located on Darby St earlier this year, Morning Market Coffee officially opened their doors in late June and have since grown a loyal coffee and baked goods-loving following!

“One of the main catalysts behind opening in Whitebridge is because it’s such a fast-growing area. Just off the Fernleigh Track, Whitebridge has become a hub for beachgoers, runners, walkers, and bike riders.

“We saw there was only a small handful of other cafes in the area and there was a need for another one. Especially one focussing on specialty coffee and artisanal baked goods.”

Known for their specialty coffee, the fresh venue offers a wide range of options including single origin and filter which rotates weekly. The team also makes their own cold brew in-house which is no doubt going to be a crowd-pleaser moving into the warmer months.

“We sell fresh daily baked pastries and bread from Snows Artisan Bakers and a selection of their cakes and tarts. We also have a small food menu with offerings like Avocado Toast, Banana Bread, Toast, Toasties, as well as a selection of Pies and Rolls.”

Visitors can also browse their range of retail products including coffee beans, pods, chai, cookie bags, and even fresh flowers!

For those of us living closer to Newcastle’s CBD, you’ll be excited to hear that the siblings are in the process of fitting out a new site in the Store building located next to the Interchange Station in Wickham.
