Cardiff welcomes House’s big coffee energy to Munibung Road
When a brand feels completely at home in a place, you can sense it the moment you walk through the door.
That’s exactly what’s happened with House - the brand-new venue in Cardiff, where owner James Conway has finally created the space he always imagined.

After launching their first location in Rutherford, followed by House on Darby Street, House has built a reputation for delivering bold coffee, big energy, and a fiercely loyal following.

Speaking with James he explains the new Cardiff location is the first time the brand feels truly aligned with its roots.

“These are our people. It’s authentic to who we are, this is where the brand really makes sense.”
Set in Cardiff’s industrial pocket, where gyms, tradespeople, and young families are passing by daily, James has built the new space with connection being the priority.

The crisp industrial design features communal seating outside for coffees on the run, and a mezzanine style space overlooking the buzz below, designed for lingering longer. There’s even a small branded van mounted inside the venue, a quirky visual story born from an unexpected accident and now proudly part of the fit-out.

“When you walk in and see the van, you think… why? And the answer is, why not? It tells our story.”
The build itself took four months of meticulous work. Almost every detail is custom-made, from curved concrete seating to sculptural fixtures. The investment was big, three times the original budget he coyly admits, but for James, the outcome was worth every cent.

“I’ve never been tested so much in my life, but this space feels exactly how I wanted it to, fresh, and not intimidating.”
Cardiff also marks a new era for the House food offering. The team has been working closely with Dave Griffin, formerly of Bao Brothers, to introduce a range of loaded bagels and an Italian-inspired pizza menu, complete with hand-rolled bases, and specialised ovens to keep service fast.
“I haven’t had a better pizza in Little Italy,” James says. “It’s that good!”
In addition to the pizza you’ll be able to drop in for a toasty, Açai minis, and as you’d expect, a big range of quality coffee flavours and varieties are featured on the drinks menu.
The venue will also include a bookable meeting nook and plenty of room for groups, which works well for James’ plan to introduce their popular run club and health-focused events.

Despite the scale of the build, the vision remains simple: create a space where people feel welcome, energised, and connected.
“I wanted to build something I would actually want to come to, that’s what this place is. It’s not fancy, but it feels good.”
Bold, communal, and unmistakably House, Cardiff’s newest addition is set to become the suburb’s go-to spot for coffee, catch-ups, and a whole lot of vibe.
