Hosting the Hunter Valley's biggest bonfire, Glandore Estate's annual Burning of the Barrel event ticks all the boxes
2020 Burning of the Barrel | Postponed
What's usually one of the highlights of the Hunter Valley's Winter Food & Wine Festival, this year's Burning of the Barrel event at Glandore Estate has been postponed.
About the Event
Held at Glandore Estate each year, Burning of the Barrel is the Bonfire of all Bonfires!
As the name suggests, ticket holders gather round to bear witness to a fiery inferno - around 75 tonnes of wood and one or two sacrificial wine barrels (empty of course) - which light up the night sky and warm up half the Hunter Valley.
With a roaring bonfire and great food and wine, Glandore Estate's annual Burning of the Barrel event is the kind of do you need to go to at least once but one you'll end up attending every year.
If you're planning on going, be sure to get your tickets early as they tend to sell out pretty fast.
Also, be sure to wear covered shoes and bring along a picnic rug. If you're driving, there's free onsite parking otherwise you can take advantage of the shuttle bus service that operates on the night. Tickets for this are sold separately.
