Everyone's favourite BBQ festival is back: that's right, Smoke in Broke is returning to McNamara Park this June long weekend, bringing with it the low n' slow flavours of Texas.

Happening from Friday June 7 to Sunday June 9, this BBQ extravaganza is taking over Broke with stacks of food vendors, craft beer, demonstrations, competitions, and live music.

It's a barbecue lover's dream – here's what you can expect.

Feast on meat, meat, and more meat

Be prepared to be treated to a mouth-watering array of BBQ meats at Smoke in Broke. With plenty of stalls to sample from, you'll feel like you've arrived at the perfect backyard BBQ. 

The grills will be firing, so get ready to taste everything from brisket, ribs, and wings, to sausages, pulled pork, and of course, the classic BBQ box. Whatever you choose, you're guaranteed plenty of smokiness, flavour, and finger lickin'. Make sure you wear your stretchiest pants!

There's a smokin' hot lineup of demonstrations happening across the weekend, so you can take your at-home barbecuing game to new heights. Experts from some of the best BBQ joints in the country are showcasing their skills and cooking up some delicious meat.

Catch Robert Thraves from Smokin Hot ‘n Saucy, Jim Osborne from Bluebird BBQ in Warwick, Graeme Stockdale from The Stockpot Kitchen – Smokehouse BBQ & Fried Chicken in Lismore, and Brett Gray from Meat Graffiti in Victoria.

Battle of the BBQ

Think you've got what it takes to claim the title of BBQ champion? Then bring your A-game to the Smoke in Broke BBQ Competition!

This competition is a Championship Round, sanctioned by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance. Beginners to seasoned pitmasters are welcome to compete this epic showdown and vie for bragging rights, plus some serious prize money. 

There'll also be a Chilli Cookoff Competition (new this year and happening on Friday June 7 with limited tickets available), a Steak Cookoff Association Competition, and even strongmen and women competitions across the weekend.

In case you need another reason to attend Smoke in Broke, the event just won Festival of the Year at the Australasian Barbecue Alliance awards. This award-winning weekend out also promises stacks of live music and activities for the kids, so everyone will be entertained while devouring all the smoked delicacies on offer.
