A world-class golf driving range experience is coming to town

Swing Factory, Australia’s fast-growing name in golf facilities and family entertainment, has announced it will soon be making a big impression in the Hunter, with a brand-new world-class venue set to open in Rutherford.

The multi-million-dollar project will transform the former Tom’s Golf Range site into a modern, entertainment-driven golfing destination. 

Construction is slated to begin in late 2025 with doors expected to open to the public by mid to late 2026 (subject to council approval). 

The Rutherford facility will be the third in Swing Factory’s portfolio, joining existing locations at Terrey Hills in Sydney and Morack Public Golf in Melbourne, as the company works towards building Australia’s first nationwide network of community-focused golf driving range venues. 

Swing Factory has built a reputation for reinventing how Australians experience golf ranges, offering purpose-built spaces that combine cutting-edge technology with welcoming social environments. 

From seasoned golfers to first-time players and families looking for a fun day out, the venues aim to cater to all skill levels and occasions.

The Rutherford site will be no exception. Guests can look forward to a modern clubhouse with alfresco dining, undercover all-weather driving bays with plush lounge seating, a spectacular 18-hole mini golf course designed by Richard Chamberlain, and a food and beverage offering to match the venue’s lively atmosphere.

Every bay will feature auto-tee systems, robotic ball collections, and Toptracer Range technology – offering real-time ball tracking, game modes, and performance analytics used by elite courses around the globe.
