Newcastle Distilling Co. launches HV venue

The team behind the Spirit of the Hunter brand, Newcastle Distilling Co. have been busily working behind the scenes since early 2020 to bring to life a brand-new venue to the Hunter Valley, Easy Street Collective.

“We want the locals and visitors to come along and have a relaxing time. Somewhere to take their friends and family for a relaxing day or night, enjoy a drink and share a meal. We just want to make it easy,” Operations Manager, Sam Cable shared.

The new venue will see Pokolbin land itself a collection of offerings including a cellar door, bar, restaurant, and even a bespoke whisky room. With covid lockdowns currently in place across the Hunter region, the team say they expect to open the doors the minute restrictions lift with the 21st of October in their sights.

“What will separate us from other distilleries from the area is that not only will we have the typical Gins, Vodkas, and liqueurs, but also a Whisky and Rum offering. We will have new ranges of gins and flavoured vodka, and easy food like charcuterie boards, cheese boards, and pizzas; just easy food that can be shared with friends.”

Whilst the Newcastle-based distillery is excited about the launch of their newest venture, the local business has much more in their sights with plans to launch numerous Cellar Doors across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, as well as expanding their product offering including a brewery offshoot, and they want you to be a part of it!

Newcastle Distilling Co. has just launched a crowdfunding campaign through Birchal where they’re encouraging lovers of spirits and loyal customers to express their interest in becoming a part of the ever-growing and ever-evolving business.

“The crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise capital for our business, and in return, you will receive shares in the company. We have an ambitious target but we have already had over 600 people express interest so far.

“It will allow us to open all of our cellar doors, install our brewery that has been designed to produce 540,000L of beer a year, produce more barrels of whisky, increase our spirit making capacity, hire more staff, allow us to break into new markets, and to research and develop new products.”

With the Expressions of Interest due to end on the 27th of September, so if you’re keen to learn more about getting a slice of the Newcastle Distilling Co. business, head to the Birchal website and get your info in.

Since its inception in 2018, the local brand has gone from strength to strength with already managing to secure its products in 11 Dan Murphy stores, 14 BWS stores, and numerous independently owned bottleshops across the Hunter and Central Coast regions, with plans to expand nationally.
