A cultural, physical and spiritual event brought to you as a gift from the 5 Lands community.
On Saturday 26th June, one of Australia's most spectacular and fascinating coastal walks returns to the Central Coast.
The 5 Lands Walk is a FREE community-based and community-operated cultural and spiritual Walk, which seeks to “connect people to people and people to place”.
The 10 km coastal walk features five festival sites along the beaches, headlands, paths and roads that connect the FIVE diverse communities of MacMasters beach, Copacabana, Avoca beach, North Avoca and Terrigal.
Starting at MacMasters Beach the 10km route heads north to the surf clubs - Copacabana, Avoca Beach and North Avoca, following the beaches, headlands, bush tracks and back-roads all the way to Terrigal. To view the full route click here.
With an award-winning line up of multi-cultural and indigenous performers these immersive outdoor theatrical events are the cultural highlights with 5 Lands Walk President, Pauline Wright adding,
“5 Lands Walk acknowledges that we operate and function on the traditional land of the Darkinjung People. We pay our respects to the elders past and present and acknowledge the youth, the future leaders in whose hands is held our hope for a reconciled future".
In addition to the 5 Lands Walk the event includes a spectacular multi-media Opening and Closing Ceremony which will be a celebration of creativity, community and connection. Featuring the 50 piece Ephemera Choir and some of the coast’s finest musicians, the event is a gift from the community of the Central Coast to you.
Timed to correspond with the peak of the northerly whale migration, the 2019 event saw more than 21,000 attend and some 700 volunteers who helped make the event the incredible spectacle that it was, and 2021 hopes to be even bigger.
All are welcome to participate and enjoy the spectacular 5 Lands Walk weekend with events and cultural performances right across the three days from Friday June 25 to Sunday June 27 June.
