Inner Light Tea Rooms

I'll have a coffee and a view please!

There aren’t too many cafes along the east coast of Australia that can boast the kind of views that the Inner Light Tea Rooms are surrounded by! Spectacular Nelson Bay to your left, tranquil Shoal Bay to your right, and directly in front of you, Boondelbah Island and the great blue beyond.

Located at the Nelson Head Lighthouse Reserve, overlooking the bay of Port Stephens, entry to the Inner Light Tea Rooms is via the discreetly signposted Little Beach Boat Ramp. Once at the top of the road, you'll be greeted by the Marine Rescue building, with Inner Light Tea Rooms just around the bend.

Run by mother and daughter duo, Kerry and Jill, this tea house is so unique. The views, the food,  the atmosphere is like nothing else. You'll feel like you're on holidays from the moment you step inside!

The menu features fresh fluffy scones, smoked salmon bagels, pancakes, fresh sandwiches and many more breakfast and lunch options. It's also BYO, and serves coffees until 4pm everyday.

Whilst at the tea rooms make sure you pop into the Marine Rescue building which houses a museum and gift shop.

Not the most obvious of cafes to visit, but for those in the area wishing to step out of the always popular Nelson Bay and d’Albora Marina café strips, it comes as a pleasant surprise.
