With winter kicking in, Winter Live Unplugged is the perfect opportunity to warm up to some mellow music, slip indoors and rediscover the eclectic tastes, styles, fashions and fun of Darby Street.
There will be 10 locations along the length of the Darby Street precinct hosting live music in a program showcasing the fantastic talent of more than 20 local musicians.
“Darby Street Live was a fantastic success for the street and a great opportunity for many local musicians. We want to play off that but create a very different event for Winter that celebrates local music and the street” curator Kian West said.
He added, “live music is such a hot topic for the city at the moment with the Council survey open. It is easy to forget that these events only exist if people support them. Brave the cold and come see some musical talent Newcastle has on offer. Plus it is a great opportunity to support local businesses which is always a good thing”.
"Newcastle Now is very excited to be supporting Winter Live Unplugged and all of the musicians and businesses involved. The businesses around the city centre need as much support as possible at the moment and this is a fantastic way to bring people into the city and in the doors of those businesses," says Richard Christian, Newcastle Now Executive Officer.
