Australia’s biggest VW event is back at Old Bar

Kombis, live music, markets, fireworks, and beachside festival vibes – the Old Bar Beach Festival is back for another huge October long weekend.

From Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, Old Bar Beach Festival will celebrate VWs, live music, classic cars, street food, markets, and family-friendly fun.

Held on the traditional lands of the Biripi people, the Old Bar Beach Festival has been bringing together Volkswagen lovers, music fans, families, and road-trip seekers since 2005.

What started as a humble local celebration has grown into Australia’s biggest VW event, attracting more than 30,000 visitors and hosting the country’s largest gathering of Kombis.

Across the weekend, festival-goers can expect a huge program featuring live music, the much-loved Kombi Parade, Kombi Fest, classic car and motorcycle displays, street performers, amusement rides, fireworks, and more than 150 market stalls.

There’ll also be plenty for families, with a free kids area featuring face painting, lawn games, mini golf, colouring-in activities, and a sandpit.

Food lovers can graze their way through street food vendors across the weekend, while the festival bar will be pouring drinks from The Coastal Brewing Co.
