Newrun - Newcastle's Running Festival

Event postponed until 11 Oct

Events on the day include the Mine Super Marathon, Marathon Tyres Half Marathon, Newcastle Herald 10km, City of Newcastle 5km or Hunter Valley Orthodontics 2km races.

The annual running festival has been keeping locals active since 2007. Originally known as the Hill to Harbour, the Mine Super NewRun is staged in Newcastle’s most iconic venues and offers participants the opportunity to test their fitness around our beautiful coastal city.

Hosted by the Maitland based family firm, H Events, we caught up with event organiser and Director of the events company, Paul Humphreys to learn more about the event and what participants can expect.

“This event makes you happy! The vibe during these events is electric and we have two of the best sports MCs to bring everyone home.

“It has arguably one of the most scenic courses in Australia and some of the best post-race infrastructure (cafes, bars, and restaurants within 200m). It encourages people to line-up and test themselves in a friendly and professionally staged participant sports event. It gives them a goal and gives them a reason to ‘get moving’, train and achieve goals,” Paul explained.
