Jackalope Block Party lands in Newcastle this November

After making waves across North America, JACKALOPE touched down in Australia for the very first time - and Newcastle was the chosen city.

On November 14–15, 2025, South Newcastle Beach Skate Park transformed into the ultimate playground for action sports fans with the arrival of the JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY.

Born in Montréal, JACKALOPE has built its name on celebrating action sports athletes and bringing people together, city by city.

For its international debut, Newcastle hosted two full days of pro-level skateboarding, live music, art, food, and plenty of opportunities to be immersed in street culture, and it was completely free to attend.

At the heart of the festival is a first-of-its-kind competition format, combining the street and bowl sections of the skatepark into one hybrid contest.

Skaters showed versatility across both disciplines, with judges scoring runs 50% on street performance and 50% on bowl. The lineup featured an exciting mix of invited pro athletes, including Beaver Fleming (USA) and Mia Kretzer (AUS), alongside talented community riders. One standout competitor even scored an all-expenses-paid trip to JACKALOPE Virginia Beach 2026.

But the BLOCK PARTY is more than just a competition, it’s designed as a full cultural takeover. Festival-goers can explore a vendor village, fuel up at local food trucks, catch live painting sessions with Mitch Revs, and meet their skate heroes during athlete signings.

Saturday night brought the party vibes with music from Maple’s Pet Dinosaur, before Birdman Band turn up the energy with a nostalgic tribute to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.

With the promise of pro tricks, community energy, late-night after-parties, and a celebration of everything skate culture stands for, the JACKALOPE BLOCK PARTY was one of the biggest events to hit Newcastle this year.
