Led by the University of Newcastle, Hometown Holiday is a new campaign that's being developed to encourage locals to get out and about in their own backyard.
All you need to do is submit an Expressions Of Interest to be one of the Newcastle CBD Visitor economy businesses who can register to be part of the campaign for FREE.
The campaign will include a competition that will see 100 people WIN a Hometown Holiday voucher, each worth $500, to be redeemed at participating businesses.
Supported by a robust media and PR campaign participating businesses will form part of this coverage making for an excellent opportunity to promote your business to a local audience and remind them of the hidden gems and fantastic experiences in their own backyard.
To apply your businesses must fit into one of the following categories:
• Accommodation operators;
• Tours and attractions;
• Food and beverage operators; or
Businesses must be located within the boundaries of the Newcastle CBD map and must have a listing on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (also known as Get Connected), or commit to a listing business before the program gets underway.

The Hometown Holiday campaign is being coordinated by a team from the University of Newcastle and was the recipient of a COVID Industry Response Grant from the City of Newcastle.
