Pull up a chair and feast your senses at Hamilton’s ultimate street party!

Newcastle Fringe Festival turned up the flavour again with Fringe Feast 2026, taking over Beaumont Street for an unforgettable afternoon and evening, once again turning Hamilton into one big long, shared table as the street bursts into life with local food, live entertainment, and a full taste of Fringe magic.

Part street party, open-air restaurant, and creative playground – Fringe Feast is where neighbours, families, and friends gather to celebrate what makes Newcastle Fringe so unique.

What can you expect on the street?

Over 50 restaurants, bars, and cafes joined the celebration, festivalgoers dined in, grabbed takeaway, and settled in at communal feasting tables stretching along the street. Participating venues served up special “Feast Meal Deals”, offering a rich mix of culinary delights while audiences soak up five hours of non-stop entertainment.

Fringe Feast is the perfect sampler of Newcastle Fringe’s multi-genre festival. From 4pm, family-friendly fun kicked off with First Nations cultural performances, magic and mayhem from The Pretty Amazing Jono, interactive dance workshops, roving performers, and vibrant visual installations. 

Young creatives can dive into hands-on craft activities, face and portrait painting, and even a playful hair competition set to rival the famed Mullet Fest. Friends can dance together in a silent disco, while inclusive performances from Chance2Dance showcase the talents of young people of all abilities.

A highlight of the afternoon is Little Hands, Big Fringe, a recycled art project inviting kids to leave their mark on the festival. 

In the lead-up, children can donate colourful household items to Hamilton Library, which will be transformed into a giant Newcastle Fringe sign during a hands-on workshop with volunteer artists and Fringe crew.

As the sun sets, comedian Eddie Rockefeller guides the evening entertainment as hip hop and horns collective 3Degrees fire up the main stage.

Newcastle’s own Les Divine Folles bring high-kicking French revue glamour, while visiting artist Ark Hive blends live drumming with electro-organic beats alongside local contemporary dancers.

The night crescendos with a warehouse-party finale, featuring Triple J Unearthed artists KehdiDoofi Disqotek and local fire dancers lighting up the street.
