Lake Macquarie’s glowing winter flotilla event returns

Lake Macquarie is set to shine this June as Float Your Boat returns for two nights of illuminated vessels, foreshore entertainment, food trucks, and family-friendly fun.

On Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, Float Your Boat will light up Lake Macquarie with glowing boat parades and live sites across the foreshore.

One of Lake Macquarie’s most-loved winter events, Float Your Boat will see a flotilla of illuminated boats make its way across the lake, with live entertainment and activities bringing the foreshore to life.

On Friday night, the western lake flotilla is scheduled to travel from Empire Marina across Lake Macquarie to Toronto, Coal Point, and Wangi Wangi. The Toronto foreshore will host live music, children’s activities, entertainment, roaming illuminated performers, and food trucks from 4:30pm to 8:30pm.

On Saturday night, the eastern lake flotilla will travel from Empire Marina to Warners Bay, Eleebana, Valentine, and Belmont. Live sites are planned along the foreshore at Warners Bay and Belmont, with food trucks, live music, children’s activities, and illuminated entertainment from 4:30pm to 8:30pm.

Entry is free, making it an easy winter night out for families, locals, and anyone keen to catch the lake glowing after dark.
