Race the iconic Fernleigh Track
Newcastle’s annual, and much loved Fernleigh 15 returns on Sunday, October 18.
The Fernleigh 15 invites participants to run along the beloved Fernleigh Track. Stretching 15km from Adamstown to Belmont, this unique course follows the former rail line, now one of the region’s most scenic and well loved active tracks.
For the duration of the event, the Fernleigh Track will be closed to the public, giving participants rare, and exclusive access. The route is lined with coastal bushland, aid stations, toilets, and plenty of volunteers to keep energy high.
For children under 17yrs, the Fernleigh 1500 is on offer. The 1500m event starts and finishes in Belmont, the same finish area for the Fernleigh 15.
All finishers will receive a medal, live timing, and results available on the day.
For an easy return back to the start point, there’s the option to add a return shuttle from Belmont for an additional $10pp.
Whether you’re racing for a personal best, or in it for the experience, the Fernleigh 15 is a chance to see Newcastle and Lake Macquarie from a whole new perspective.
