Leading chefs and winemakers unite for one spring feast

Five acclaimed restaurants. Five celebrated Hunter Valley wineries. One afternoon only.

On Saturday, September 5, Chefs in the Vines is bringing together some of Australia's most respected culinary talent for an exclusive spring food and wine experience at Spicers Guesthouse.

Chefs in the Vines

Designed as a celebration of regional produce, exceptional wine, and the people behind both, Chefs in the Vines invites guests to experience restaurant-quality dishes unlike anything usually found at a single event.

Held across two afternoon sessions, guests will move between five live cooking stations where each chef prepares and presents a signature dish while sharing the inspiration and techniques behind their food.

Meet the chefs

Jake Kellie – Orleana, Kingsford The Barossa

Thomas Heinrich – Restaurant Botanica

Chefs in the Vines

Having trained through New York's Four Seasons before senior roles in Chicago, Vancouver and Canberra, Thomas Heinrich brings his produce-driven cooking style to the event with hibachi-grilled Fremantle octopus, roasted sunflower romesco, Botanica garden produce and lemon myrtle-pickled Tasmanian scallop.

Ed Butcher – Rick Stein at Bannisters Port Stephens

Chefs in the Vines

After almost a decade working in Rick Stein's kitchens from Dorset to Port Stephens, Ed Butcher will showcase coastal flavours with XO Birubi Beach pipis, highlighting fresh local seafood and bold Asian-inspired flavours.

The wines

Five Hunter Valley wineries will pour alongside the dishes, including Tyrrell's, Brokenwood, Mount Pleasant, First Creek and Silkman Wines. Guests can choose between a food-only ticket or upgrade to include a matched wine at every station.

With live cooking, conversations with the chefs and winemakers, and exclusive dishes created just for the event, Chefs in the Vines is a rare opportunity to experience some of Australia's most talented chefs cooking side by side.
