Celebrate Piano Day at Momo's | Returning 2024
Newcastle’s favourite vegetarian cafe Momo Wholefood will once again be bringing you an evening of music and food to celebrate World Piano Day, bringing you Momo Piano Sessions.
Piano Day is an annual worldwide event founded by a group of like-minded people & takes place in multiple cities around the globe on the 88th day of the year because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated.
This intimate and immersive musical experience, hosted in Momo’s beautiful light-filled space in the heart of the city, is supported by Momo Wholefood's dinner menu and bar service. The bite sized performances will be centred around one very special glass fronted piano supplied by ‘The Glassfront Project’, a project by local Newcastle musician Josh Rea.
Momo Piano Sessions is about creating a welcoming, inclusive space for people to rest, slow down, and escape into quiet music.
The concept behind Momo Piano Sessions is to breakdown the perceived barriers associated with classical music events. That means hosting affordable events in quirky, non traditional music spaces, and curating a programme of emerging, experimental artists who create engaging and accessible music that crosses over popular genres.
