Escape the heat this summer and take the family to space
Gather the family – the Australia in Space exhibit is touching down at Newcastle Museum!
The Questacon-developed exhibition is sure to be a hit with kids and budding astronauts of all ages.
As part of the exhibition, there’ll be plenty of hands-on activities exploring Australia’s expertise in space science and technology.
- Try tackling space junk with a friend in a cooperative computer game
- Have a go at driving a simulated Mars rover
- You can even design your own spacesuit!
Other out-of-this-world displays include a virtual telescope that links to iconic deep space missions and a laser-based puzzle game that shows how satellites allow over-the-horizon communications.
Bring the family to wander through this exciting exhibition. Along the way, you’ll learn how Australian innovations are used in space, and the surprising benefits space technologies bring to everyday life here on Earth.
Divided into three zones – the Lift Off Zone, the In Orbit Zone, and the Earth & Beyond Zone – Australia in Space takes you on a journey through Australia’s space operations.
Want to learn even more about Australia in Space? Newcastle Museum is running events and free science shows throughout the school holidays to complement the exhibition.
