A spectacular air show is coming to Newcastle this November

The City of Newcastle (CN) in partnership with the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) is bringing a one off event to the city on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.

Whether you’re a die-hard aviation enthusiast, or just want to have a fabulous day out, this spectacular weekend will be full of excitement, education and roaring aircrafts.

The free community event is expecting upwards of 100,000 people, and all eyes will be focused skywards for the RAAF flying displays at 10am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4pm.

Formation and aerial displays will be wowing the crowds with heritage and vintage aircraft like the Harvard, Winjeel, Spitfire, Mustang and Canberra, in addition to flypasts from F/A-18F, EF/A-18G Super Hornet and the Growler taking to the sky.

Catch all the aviation action from the best spot in town, and be treated to an unobstructed panorama of the aerial spectacle for both the morning and afternoon flying displays.

Newcastle Williamtown Air Show Fort Scratchley Free Viewing Areas

The free viewing areas at Nobbys Beach, Foreshore Park and Stockton will feature family-friendly activities, such as roving entertainment, kids rides and face painters creating a festival-like atmosphere.    

The Newcastle viewing areas will also feature static RAAF displays, including a military vehicle display, the Australian Army Band, Australian Air Force Cadets information, 92 WG Airborne Electronic Analyst (AEA) display and a 44 WG Transportable Air Operations Tower, where you can speak to RAAF Air Traffic Controllers and Technicians and experience a panoramic view of what the tower looks like.  

At both Newcastle and Stockton viewing areas, there will be food trucks offering a range of food, beverage and entertainment options. With the influx of visitors, leave your car at home and take the Park and Ride option operating from McDonald Jones Stadium. Parking will also be available at Stockton and will be located within an easy walk to prime vantage points.
