The Independent Galleries Newcastle Art Fair returned to Newcastle in 2023 – proudly presented by Independent Galleries Newcastle – exploring the thriving independent art scene through exhibitions and programs that showcase our local artists.  

Held across 20 independent galleries located in Newcastle, IGN Art Fair's three-day program featured studio visits, artist talks, live demonstrations, artist markets, and more. 

To kick things off, the IGN Art Fair launch party was held at LEDA Gallery on Friday 30 June from 6pm-8pm. The launch party featured the VAULT exhibition, a rare flash sale of the entire LEDA Gallery stockroom in celebration of the IGN Art Fair. 

Other launch events on Friday included Art Fair at Curve Gallery, All Fired Up at Newcastle Printmakers Workshop, three solo exhibition openings at Straitjacket Art Space, and What Was He Thinking at The Owens Collective.
