Bringing the laughs and the Hunter Valley back to Newcastle | 8 May
Lovers of comedy and wine, get ready to do a little jump for joy with the news that national comedy and wine touring event, Grapes of Mirth is returning to Newcastle on Saturday May 8 for an afternoon of laughs and vino.
Setting up at The Station (est. 1858), this iconic Newcastle venue will host over 6 hours of comedy with six of the country’s best headline comedians taking to the stage. Grapes of Mirth Head Clown, Merrick Watts, said he’ll be bringing an epic comedy line-up and some much-needed laughs to Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
“After the 2020 we experienced, we are desperate to get back out there in 2021 with a bang, a bunch of smiles, and some much-needed vino. We’ve also handpicked six Hunter Valley producers to create a wine region “pop-up” in urban Newcastle”, explained Merrick Watts.
Joining host and founder, Merrick Watts will be Tommy Little, Cal Wilson, Tom Ballard, Chris Ryan, Lewis Garnham.
To ensure the laughs continue to flow Hunter Valley wine producers; Peter Drayton Wines, Glandore Estate, First Creek Wines, De Iuliss Wines, Thomas Wines and Hart and Hunter will be setting up for the day together with local beers and gourmet grub from some of the region’s best food vendors.
For Grapes of Mirth, General Manager, Jason Nikolas, every event in 2021 will be a show to remember after a year to forget.
