Colour as you've never seen it before at the Newcastle Museum | On Now
Newcastle Museum are excited to announce one of their most colourful exhibitions to date.
Colour is a travelling exhibition by Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre, which demonstrates the spectacular science of colour and perception, and will have you discovering the world in a whole new light!
Be prepared to be amazed as you see the world in a new fluoresce light with over 25 scientific experiences including colour illusions, iridescent insects and coloured bubbles!
The exhibition will have you comparing how your perception differs from your family and friends.
Is your yellow the same as mine?
Have you ever wanted to view UV light like an insect?
Visitors will also learn how the power of colour influences their every-day decisions and natural responses to the environment. Enter the Room of Missing Colours and try on a pair of fun polarising glasses to watch colourless images come to life.
Get the younger ones involved in the Kid’s Trail and let them follow the journey of how colour brightens our everyday world, even in the darkest of times.
Colour is suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years old, but do not fear... there are plenty of intriguing activities to keep the adults entertained.
Pre-bookings are essential and 50 visitors can attend each session.
And don’t forget your mobile phone – there are some interactive components you’ll want your built-in torch for!
