Get your free family photo or pet pawtrait with Santa and his elves at Wheeler Place
The Christmas spirit is set to take over Newcastle’s Wheeler Place, with the city’s spectacular Christmas tree lighting up from Friday December 1, together with a whole lot of festive fun.
Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’s making his way to Wheeler Place for free Santa photos! The best part? Your furry friends can get in on the action too.
Thanks to City of Newcastle, you and your family can pose with Santa and his elves for a free selfie. Make sure you bring your fur babies along too, so they can get a festive DIY pet pawtrait.
Across the first two weekends of December, Santa and his elves will be available for photos from 5pm-7pm.
Talented local performers will be bringing the Christmas tunes and cheer to Wheeler Place while you get your Santa photo snapped.
It’s the perfect time to get your family Christmas card pic sorted. Why not make a night of it and grab a drink and a bite from Civic Theatre Bar?

The festive fun continues throughout December with Newcastle's popular pop-up community choir, The Sum of the Parts bringing their One Song Sing concept to Wheeler Place.
Join friends, family and complete strangers as The Sum of The Parts team have you learning all the words to a quintessential Australian Christmas song – Paul Kelly's How to Make Gravy – before belting it out in three part harmony in just one hour.
The event is free to attend – just bring your best singing voice to Wheeler Place on Thursday December 21 at 5:30pm.
