A tasty week-long festival is coming to Tamworth this September

Whilst Tamworth is best known for its legendary Country Music Festival, the region's reputation as a foodie haven has been building, deservedly so, and this September you can try it all at Taste Tamworth Festival.

The week-long celebration runs from 10 - 18 September, and is all about highlighting Tamworth's incredible food, wine, beer, and spirit scene.

The offering will be as tasty as it is extensive with visitors able to experience everything from Long Lunches, Pop-Up Bars, and High Teas to the Grand Finale main event Taste in the Park.

Popping up in suburban streets and country fields throughout this beautiful region, Taste Tamworth Festival is your chance to experience country eats and hospitality at its best. Here are the highlights...

Sweet Street 

When: Saturday 10 September | 2pm – 5pm
Where: Fitzroy Street Plaza
A new addition to Taste Tamworth Festival, Sweet Street is a colourful sweet filled afternoon in Fitzroy Street Plaza. Prep your taste buds for cupcakes, slices, and other delicious treats. You can also catch some bake-offs and other competitions too for those keen to participate.

A Taste of Sunset

When: Saturday 10 September | 5pm – 8:30pm
Where: Kitty Crawford Estate
Scrumptious food, wine and sunsets with live entertainment in a picturesque rural setting is what you can expect at A Taste of Sunset. Located at Kitty Crawford Estate in Piallamore, there is a bus option available to and from the venue.

Long Lunch

When: Sunday 11 September | 12:30pm – 4pm
Where: The Pavillion Function Centre
A luxurious long lunch in the beautiful gardens of The Pavillion in early spring, what more do you need? This mainstay event of the Taste Tamworth Festival is a favourite among foodies.

Indulge in four courses, created using select local cuisine by Tamworth chefs Graham Manvell (Central Hospitality Group, Kitty Crawford Estate, Baker Boys Espresso) and Ben Davies (Graze Willow Tree, Colly Creek Beef), while you drink the afternoon away to music talent, Sounds of Sunday.

Laneway Pop-Up Bar

When: Friday 16 September | 7pm – 10pm 
Where: Fitzroy Street
The Laneway Pop-Up Bar returns to Taste! The evanescent bar housed in a unique converted laneway brings international flavours via a selection of dishes prepared by The Pig & Tinder Box. Enjoy canapes and wine in a pop-up space between heritage buildings in Fitzroy Street, Tamworth. This unique location brings a buzzing atmosphere to Tamworth's city centre and is one not to miss!
Tickets: Strictly limited, ticket price includes a drink on arrival (wine, beer or soft drink), your choice of two dishes and live entertainment.

High Tea in the Gardens

When: Saturday 17 September | 10am – 12pm
Where: Tamworth Botanic Gardens
If you enjoy English period dramas or just enjoy a nice cuppa with sweets in a garden setting this is the event for you. Invite your friends and family for some fancy sandwiches, savoury and sweet treats and free-flowing coffee and tea.

Kids' High Tea in the Gardens

When: Saturday 17 September | 2pm – 4pm
Where: Tamworth Botanic Gardens.
If you have little one's along for the ride, you'll love this. A gorgeous High Tea set amongst Tamworth's stunning Botanic Gardens, the lush garden grounds set the scene for a truly magical afternoon the whole family can enjoy.

Taste in the Park

When: Sunday 18 September | 10am – 4pm
Where: Bicentennial Park, Tamworth
Taste in the Park is the largest and final event of the Taste Tamworth Festival. Bicentennial Park comes alive with organic food stands, fresh produce and craft beer stalls. Discover sensational flavours at Taste in the Park.
