Experience some country-luxe when visiting Dubbo
Invited by The Little Big Dairy Co to take a road trip to Dubbo and hear the story behind their incredible single source Dairy Farm, we didn't need much convincing to make a mini-escape of it. With dates tentatively locked in our first task was to work out where to stay.
Looking for something that offered a relaxed-rural type vibe our research and recommendations quickly led us to the Boat House Villa at Lazy River Estate for our two-night break.
As the name suggests Lazy River Estate is the stunningly tranquil property located on the banks of the Macquarie River. Located just 5 minutes outside of Dubbo's city centre it makes for the perfect place to stay when some relaxing is required at the end of your busy sightseeing day.
The grand timber barn door invites you into the beautifully styled property that perfectly merges contemporary touches with country-esque style charms such as the large wine barrel, vintage scales and old school petrol bowser.
Owners Pam and Peter have created a truly beautiful and luxuruious country-style accommodation experience that is ideal for romantic getaways and group escapes. The open plan lounge area and private alfresco timber deck offer plenty of space for groups of up to six to unwind in, while the two-person Balinese stone bath, views of the onsite vineyard and access to your own private beach all provide that romantic touch.
Whether it's at the end of a long drive or a hectic day of sightseeing the expansive deck area makes for the perfect place to soak up some country sounds, wine and cheese plate in hand, if eating is even actually possible, Dubbo is where you'll find it!
