The NRMA Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park will be launching their brand-new glamping experience that offers families the chance to enjoy a taste of the great outdoors with a touch of luxe.

Recently awarded a Gold medal in the 2019 NSW Tourism Awards, the beautifully landscaped waterfront property is located only a leisurely stroll away from the Port Macquarie town centre, making for easy access to an array of restaurants, bars, and cafes. The park also doubles as the gateway to Port Macquarie’s coastal walkways which have you weaving along the Hastings River and stunning coastline, along the way discovering beautiful beaches and quirky cafes.

Back to the Glamping, so what is it exactly? and what you can expect from these fancy tents?

Glamping is all about combing all the things you love about a hotel room with the adventure of camping in the outdoors. Situated close to the park’s resort pool, kids club and camp kitchen the tents allow you to focus on the important things, like relaxing and spending quality time with the family.

What’s included in your Glamping tent?

Each tent offers a large, open plan space to accommodate a family, with all the creature comforts you’d expect including a queen sized bed and two single beds made up with supplied fresh linen. Guests can soak up nature and sleep under the stars in one of thebeautifully appointed bell tents that accommodate up to four people.

Complemented by an elegant décor of indoor plants, romantic fairy lights and cosy rugs, the bell tents offer the ultimate in glamping with additional luxury touches such as eye masks, earplugs and deck chairs to relax on outside while enjoying the beautiful surrounds.

Looking for things to do whilst you’re in Port Macquarie? You don't have to go far, Port Macquarie is bursting with things to, especially if you have little ones in tow.

Start your day off with a visit to the Koala Hospital to meet some furry faces and witness the incredible work being done to take care of our national treasure.

Meet ‘Shrek’ the saltwater croc at Billabong Zoo and get up close and personal to more than 80 species of mammals, reptiles and birds.

Just 15 minutes drive from the caravan park is one of our fav’s, Ricardoes for a spot of fruit picking and lunch in Café Red. The pumpkin scones with freshly made strawberry jam and tomato soup with crusty dampter are a non-negotiable!

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre is another must visit with the easy 1.3km boardwalk through the rainforest canopy a fantastic way for the kids to get amongst nature and spot some wildlife. The onsite café also makes for a good excuse to linger a little longer.

For something more leisurely pack your towels and umbrella and spend the morning at Town Beach or head around the corner to the low-key Flynns Beach, the ideal place to chill out have a dip in the ocean.

Finally, for some of the best views in town head up to Tacking Point Lighthouse, built on a rocky headland just south of Port Macquarie, the outlook is spectacular with views up and down and has you getting up close to all the wild ocean action.
