No surprise that the team from Talulah's would create something awesome when they opened in Mayfield. Bringing cool to the suburbs, Equium Social provides customers with dishes they won't forget and it's now open nights!
7. Lulus Cafe & Poke
Known for bringing the Poke trend to Newcastle, Lulu's Cafe is a one stop shop for a healthy, and dare I say instagramable feed.
Some would say this restaurant serves up the best Mexican in town. Moving from their beloved Carrington address to Steel Street at the beginning of 2018 hasn't slowed the Antojitos machine, they're only tasting better and are the holy grail of taco makers.

4. The Falcon Restaurant
Newcastle's East End joined in the hype of new businesses opening in 2018. The Falcon Restaurant is a trendy little gem that brings tastes of the South to Newcastle.
3. Ginger Megs
One of the most anticipated and talked about venues to open in Newcastle this year. Ginger Megs brings an insanely good tasting Asian inspired menu to King St and next level cocktails. Attention to detail is an understatement with the interiors dark moods and sophisticated style taking you somewhere far far away.
2018 was the year that Whisky officially became a big thing in Newcastle, that is if the response to Babylon was anything to go by. Opening in one of Newcastle's most loved venues, the once beer hall was transformed into a sophisticated Whisky, Cocktail and Craft Beer venue. With hundreds of whisky's on the wall to choose from it's become the new home for all whisky enthusiasts.
1. Great Northern Hotel
Coming in at #1 was one of the biggest developments Newcastle City has seen in a long time. Starting the epic refurb almost three years ago to the day, Ben McBeath and Myles Plenty took on the almighty task and have nailed every corner. Not just any old pub the guys have respected the hotel's history whilst still giving it a modern twist.
With Stage 1 now complete, 2019 will bring Stage 2 and 3 which includes that Rooftop Pool & Bar, bring on 2019!
