Nestled by the lake’s edge alongside the Toronto boardwalk, the aromas from this waterside café mix with the fresh salty air. As the sun rises and glistens on the glassy surface of Lake Macquarie, I sit back, sip on my latte and take in the view.
Words can’t do the view across Lake Macquarie justice, it is breathtaking and ever changing, with yachts cruising past, pelicans flapping about and in the warmer months kids swimming in the baths. Tinto Espresso is a great spot for a chilled out breakfast date, where you can laze around, stretch out and get drenched in the morning sun. Or if you’re feeling energetic grab your coffee to go and take a stroll along the Toronto foreshore, there’s even some play equipment for the kids.
Here you can enjoy an all-day breakfast menu, along with wraps, sandwiches, salads and cakes for lunch. Built by Lake Macquarie City Council in 2007, Adam McKenzie has been at the helm of this lakeside cafe for 18 months and has established a reputation amongst the locals for a good drop of coffee. Adam roasts his own specialty coffee beans in nearby Morisset, which makes a light, smooth coffee blend. If you are arriving by boat you can ring ahead, they will have your order ready for you for when you arrive, and even bring it out to your boat – what great service!
