For breakfast, lunch or dinner, Talulah Bar is the venue for any occasion
There’s a number of reasons why Talulah Bar has been sitting at the corner of Glebe Rd and Kenrick St The Junction for what seems like forever.See our handpicked guides to Newcastle
It’s that classic combination of an always reliable menu that never disappoints, a cosy indoor and outdoor setting that’s perfect for casual catch ups or more intimate evenings. And just good old fashioned quality service.
Owners Garth Ashford and son Jacques Deloraine (who’s a constant on the floor) have created what most in the industry aspire to do - a foodie haven for every possible occasion.
They’ve also pulled together a cracking young and energetic team who deliver a smooth operation and make it all look very easy. Head Chef Cooper Thomas, also known as the Wilderness Chef, has brought his passion for local and seasonal produce to the menu, check out his Instagram. Accustomed to producing wilderness feasts in some of Australia’s most remote of locations, Cooper’s passion for food and flavours can be experienced on every plate.
The menu reflects the season, not only to keep the regulars on their toes but make use of the local in-season produce. However, if it’s a breakfast you’re after the Buckwheat Pancakes are a menu staple and are way beyond your usual pancake experience.
Lunch is a collection of next level Burgers, Salads of all flavours and some classics like the Smashed Avo. In the evening there’s a dish for all tastes, like the Mediterranean Styled Braised Lamb Shank, Crusted King Dory and House Made Lamb Dumplings to the lighter Seared Sea Scallops with Baby Sweet Corn and Pulled Pork Soft Tacos.
Evenings are completed with a collective of sweet treats and dreamy cocktails which all meld delightfully with the mood lighting and easy tunes.
Whether it's for an early or mid-morning coffee, quick bite or long lunch, romantic dinner date or group catch up Talulah Bar is perfect for any occasion.
