Engagement and Wedding Jewellery – The New Rules
Once upon a time when a couple came to choosing their engagement ring it was all about picking a diamond with the four C’s in mind – cut, clarity, carat
While the classic diamond ring will not be going anywhere anytime soon, there are now so many more engagement ring options thanks to a new breed of clever jewellers getting creative with their designs and use of alternative materials.
Studio Melt in Newcastle's Hunter St Mall is leading the trend away from the standard issue princess-cut-diamond-on-platinum-band-look by hand-selecting some of the world’s most inspired jewellers for their new premium engagement and wedding jewellery collection.
Owner and jeweller at Studio Melt, Ange Hailey wanted to offer Australian brides-to-be and their grooms something totally different and unique.
I noticed that the trend for premium wedding jewellery was moving away from the traditional. Engaged couples were coming in store to ask if we could make them something unusual, and while we do occasionally hand make unique pieces, I realised it would also be great to have a selection of beautiful ready-made handcrafted rings on offer.
I looked to designers from all over the world and chose a handful of wonderful artists that we are now proud to sell as the only Australian stockists.
The designs are all really unique, beautiful and playful and this new generation of brides are so lucky to have such a diverse collection to choose from!
