Goodfriends Eatery

Good Produce. Good Times. Good Vibes. Good Life.

Serving up quality, wholesome food to be shared with the loved ones; your good friends.

Hey cafe lovers, you might want to listen in. The Junction has got itself another coffee hangout, and we’re pretty psyched!

Goodfriends Eatery, located on the corner of Union & Kemp Streets, officially opened up their doors to the locals in early May, and they’ve quickly made themselves a favourite within the community.

Serving up good quality food and coffee, what more could you want?

“The menu is fresh, simple, and plant-based. We’ve got lots of nice salads, and it’s a small menu with seasonal changes,” the owner told me.

We ate our way through the menu, and can happily report that everything, and we mean everything is truly delicious. My pick would have to be the charred pumpkin wedge, with spiced chickpeas, house pickles, fried egg, toasted seeds, hummus and topped with pomegranate seeds.

Keep in mind that the menu is constantly changing, so you foodies can rejoice knowing your tastebuds will always be delighted and never bored.

Whilst the menu is simply scrumptious, you ought to try some of their in-house baked goodies. Made fresh each and every day, you could get your hands on muffins, croissants, banana bread, and even their most popular item; the scones.

The humble scone you ask. What could be so good about that?

“The baked in-house scones have been a bit of a hit with locals. We’ve sold so many! We even whip our own cream and make our own jam. It’s really delicious!”

Coffee connosieurs will be pleased to see these guys serving up your much needed caffeine hit with the help from Seven Miles Coffee Roasters. Batch brew lovers will be excited to know that every weekend, Goodfriends Eatery has a bottomless batch brew. Yep, you heard that correctly. Keep refilling that cup of yours; you’ll be buzzing for days!

The light and airy space boasts a natural colour scheme. With the timber table settings set against the timber walls, painted stark white and a ply ceiling. Decorated with a floral arrangement of the ever so popular pampas grass, dried ferns and cotton stems. The large glass windows look out over the street; allowing for the warm sunlight to come beaming in and giving us self-confessed people watchers the best spot to do our thing!

“Our floral arrangement was done by Blooms on Darby. They were awesome. I told them the flowers that we really wanted, and they just worked their magic.”

The name itself wasn’t an easy decision, in fact, the team took over six months to decide on something that they loved.

“We just wanted something casual, with a good feel about it. Lots of different names were thrown about, but we ended up picking this one. It’s just simple, and really connects to what we’re trying to do here.”

Goodfriends is open 7 days of the week and is the perfect hang out for friends, family and even business meetings.

“We have this room out the back, which we open on the weekends when it gets busy. The idea was to create a space where businesses can come and have meetings. They can close the door and have a private space.”

Grab your good friends, head along to The Junction and give Goodfriends Eatery a visit.
