Good Brother Espresso

Could this be Newcastle's best coffee?

With recycled retro furniture and exposed brick walls, Good Brother exudes a warm and homely vibe.

Cast your mind back five years ago, when inner city Newcastle was just starting to get its groove back. Well, it was back then that Good Brother opened their doors and started to gain their cult following among neighbouring office workers, advertising executives, journalists and solicitors.

Good Brother has a reputation for excellent coffee – a consistent pour with a strong, smooth, full-bodied flavour. Run by partners Chris and Steph, who also run Suspension in Beaumont Street, Hamilton, these guys really know how to make great coffees and pride themselves on consistency, from their Suspension roasted coffee beans.

Good Brother’s menu is all about honest, homely, hearty food – their menu has been designed by Bev, Steph’s mum who is also responsible for baking their irresistible baked goods. With a simple, seasonal menu, Good Brother is all about doing the basics really, really well.

So drop on by this weekend, pull up a seat at the communal table, sit back, read the newspaper and devour some coffee and cake, what a great way to spend the weekend.
