The long-time favourites across Newcastle, Bao Brothers, have officially launched their Bao At Home kits to keep all your bao cravings at bay!
“We want to bring you the Bao Brothers experience right in your home. These kits are easy to cook and even easier to assemble.”
Each pack includes; bao, a bag of your choice of flavour (we had glazed brisket), two steamer papers and pots, and pots full of all the yummiest toppings for your bao. All you need is a medium-sized pot (filled with water), bamboo steamer basket (or microwave), 2x metal or ceramic bowls, scissors, tongs, timer, spoons, and a chopping board!
The box is beautifully packaged and comes with an A4 page of instructions that are super simple to follow – so simple, you might even ask yourself, why haven’t I ever made bao at-home before?
From unpacking your goodie box to stuffing your face with your own bao creations only takes around 15 minutes. So, for those time-poor, Bao At Home is basically quicker than it would be dining out at the Charlestown restaurant! And if you, like me, don’t really consider yourself much of a culinary genius, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how easy (and how good) your bao turn out!
Whilst the at-home kits are jammed packed with all the yummiest toppings you can think of, the team wants you to get creative and pull out your own favourite flavourings from the pantry to make your bao, your way. There are no rules with the Bao At Home kits!

Bao Brothers’ Bao At Home Kits were launched in late April, they’ve got plans to bring all sorts of exciting flavours in the coming weeks, with the team rolling out a new flavour every two weeks - so keep your eyes peeled for one that tantalises your own individual tastebuds!
The Bao At Home Kits will be priced from $60-$70 and will feed 2-3 people (depending on whether you’re keen on sharing your bao), with alcoholic beverages soon to hit the takeaway menu too.
And with Mother’s Day THIS SUNDAY they’ve got a special one-off package perfect to celebrate mum – but you have to get your orders in by 4pm Thursday!
