From the moment we turned off onto the quiet one mile road towards the tiny home, we felt instantly relaxed. Pulling up to the luxe tiny house, set on a 100-acre riverfront property of picturesque farmland along Brady Creek, we realised how much we’d missed being in nature.
Golden hour illuminated the fields of grass, and the noise of city life was replaced by nothing but the wind rustling in the trees. You are reminded of how nature can make you feel totally at peace, a way to disconnect from busy everyday life. The house has been crafted with this in mind.
The Tiny Mile offers a truly luxe private tiny-house experience where every detail has been considered by owner Sherinah Peck. From the natural materials used throughout the build to the warm, intentional styling inside, and windows that frame the view, every element of the stay has been designed to nurture a sense of comfort and connection.
Inside the riverside cottage, you’ll find a beautifully appointed king bedroom complete with an automatic projector screen to transform the room into a private theatre for cosy movie nights in.
The fully equipped kitchenette (including a coffee machine, cooktop, and air fryer) comes generously stocked with artisan breakfast provisions and a selection of MAYDE teas and French press coffee.
The luxurious bathroom includes river views from the shower and the Sans Ceuticals products are designed for the ultimate pampering.
The outside of The Tiny Mile is just as impressive, with a large sunken outdoor bath and shower overlooking the river and a custom-built western red cedar sauna where floor-to-ceiling windows capture serene river views and invite pure relaxation. There’s even a canoe to explore the creek and an outdoor firepit for toasting marshmallows under the stars during the cooler months.
It was not only the major features of the property that set The Tiny Mile apart, it was also the attention to detail. We were constantly discovering thoughtful touches, like the personalised welcome sign, popcorn kernels to make when watching movies, marshmallows to add to our hot chocolate and the ‘spread love’ detailing engraving on the butter knife; we really felt every detail of the property had been created with care.
We spent our mornings cooking breakfast, taking in the view of the countryside from the expansive window, and enjoying French press coffee on the covered outdoor balcony overlooking the river.
When morning flowed into day, we spent time curled up with a book, watching movies on the projector screen, and letting the world drift by from the sunken outdoor bath before a session in the sauna. When sunset arrived, we poured a glass of wine, assembled a cheeseboard, pulled out one of the lawn games, and enjoyed some nostalgic, old-school fun.
Just a two-hour drive from Newcastle, the newly built tiny house is an idyllic retreat for couples or solo adventurers wanting a relaxing escape, without having to travel too far. While the property offers everything you need to settle in and switch off, it’s also conveniently close to beaches, scenic coastal trails, and the natural beauty of Saltwater National Park.
