Built in the late Victorian era, the property suffered substantial damage during the 1989 Newcastle earthquake but has been restored to its former glory by earlier owners, Lyn & John Hayes.

Exquisitely furnished and styled by Melissa Webster and the creative team at GatherStudio; the property is a luxe Airbnb that caters for couples, families and individuals. With multi-bedding configurations and custom high-end finishes throughout, Hayes House is Newcastle’s dream home away from home.

Hayes House is within walking distance to the restaurants and cafes on Darby Street, as well as being in close proximity to shopping and the beaches.

The current owners have really stepped up their game with their attention to detail throughout the entire property,

There are so many things that I love about this house. The ‘WOW’ factor that you get from the moment you open the door. I love the serenity that emanates from Hayes House. I love that we have a local flavour to Hayes House – from the beautiful framed photographs of the Newcastle surf that we have hanging on the walls by local talent, James Stephenson, to the very gorgeous Clay Canoe plates, bowls and mugs made by the amazing Wyan McAllister and Kyle Roddenby, as well as the most sublime hand and body wash…created by Kylie from Savant Apothecary.”

If you’re a guest of Hayes House, expect to thoroughly enjoy your stay and having more than just a place to stay, but a luxe Newcastle experience.
