For the interior design lovers out there, you may have heard the news that the much-loved design course created by Block star Jenna Densten, Design School, recently launched in Newcastle. For those that read a little closer, you may have also noticed that our very own local interior design superstar, Tim Neve, will be holding the classes in his very own, brand-new retail warehouse space in Maryville.

The Harris St industrial warehouse has been transformed into an interior dreamland filled with all the best pieces from Tim’s very own Muse collection alongside a range of curated furniture pieces, accessories, and of course endless textiles.

Opening up the warehouse roller door officially over this year’s Easter long weekend, the warehouse brings everything that Tim has worked on over the past decade into reality. From hosting workshops, teaching as part of Design School, operating as a retail space stocking his very own designs, to even being able to chat directly to people about their renovations.

“I’ve always wanted a space that I could create in. The retail aspect has become a bit of a great by-product and it means that we have direct access to the public and our customers.

“I think everyone is loving being able to shop in person after lockdowns last year. To be able to go out and see, touch, feel, talk, and interact. The reaction so far has been great,” Tim explained.

The Tim Neve Warehouse is stocked with unique pieces made to last a lifetime and bring a touch of personality to a space. With all the textiles designed by Tim himself, the furniture and other accessory pieces have been hand-picked to be in line with the brand’s style.

“We’re always looking at what can be done next or what can be more unique with custom pieces. I want that for this space. You don’t want to walk into spaces around Newcastle and everyone has the same products. That was definitely on my mind when I was sourcing products.”

All of Tim’s fabric is made here in Australia by a small company that uses 100% natural fibres. Rather than having shelves upon shelves of cushions, everything is produced on demand making his product incredibly eco-friendly.

Since opening, Tim and his team have been able to connect directly with the people of Newcastle and hear all about their renovation projects. Whilst the space is set up for retail, it’s being able to give advice and pass on the knowledge that Tim loves most.

“The first weekend I opened people were coming in and showing me their kitchen renovations and it was great getting to talk to customers about that.”

The warehouse is open to the public Friday through to Saturday and will always be sure to tempt the inner interior enthusiast with the beautifully curated range. In addition to the ever-growing stock, Tim will of course be kicking off things with Design School come 9^th of June as well as holding his very own workshops in the coming months.

“The amazing thing about having a warehouse and something that I’m really learning about along the way is that the possibilities are kind of endless! Having this space and from running Open House Newcastle, those workshops were amazing, and I want to do more of them.”
