Unstructured, natural and utterly beautiful
Make a statement with a massive floral Xmas wreath.
You may not be familiar with the name but you’re more than likely familiar with the flowers. Perfectly positioned throughout some of our most favourite local businesses. Bunches of billy buttons, watering cans filled with wildflowers, delicate branches in gigantic bottles, succulent gardens, vases of gum nuts, stunning arches of tea tree orchids and of course Christmas Wreaths can be spotted all over town.
For those not familiar with Newcastle’s mysterious flower fairy, Little Wren Flowers is the name, and the lady behind this gorgeous business is Kamisha Refalo. Kamisha has been sprinkling poses of colour and all sorts of beautifulness throughout our city for some time now and whilst floristry isn’t anything new, Little Wren isn’t your typical florist.
Kamisha prefers to describe her style as being more artistic or sculptural and takes a more natural approach to the art of floristry. Her style is wild, eclectic, whimsical and flowing.
Kamisha’s preference for using seasonal flowers is always on display in her grand old warehouse in Tighes Hill. The collection of paper daisies with their vibrant yellows and warm crimsons, provide warmth on a fresh Winter’s morning, as Kamisha explains to me about her desert and native flower supplier on the Central Coast.
These new digs at Tighes Hill are the result of keeping up with a growing business, it also means that Kamisha will have a dedicated space for hosting workshops and classes. With plans to regularly host flower crown workshops, hand tied posies, hens parties, wreath and Christmas table centre workshops .
Kamisha’s floral touches make regular appearances in local wedding mag White Magazine, on local runways and Little Wren has become the go-to florist for brides looking for a more unstructured and natural look to their bridal floral arrangements.
If you love flowers for big or small occasions or just like to treat yourself and brighten a room, then you really need to check out Little Wren Flowers, Kamisha does a flower run on Thursdays and Fridays within inner city Newcastle with set seasonal bunches. Also available are flower subscriptions for your home or the office.
