When you start delving into the world of skincare it can be a slippery slope of expensive marketing campaigns and bogus products, and somewhere amongst the noise there are a handful of gems, the needles in the haystacks if you will, and this local skincare brand is one of them.

Meet In Practice Skincare. Launched on October 21^st, the brand is the brainchild of long-time beauty industry lover, Lorinda Bissaker. Having jumped headfirst into the industry back in 2004, Lorinda has gone on to complete both her Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Bachelor of Business as well as operating two beauty salons in the Hunter region.

Come 2017, the idea for pursuing the concept of creating her own unique skincare brand was born. From brainstorming formulations, talking to manufacturers, and finding the right cosmetic chemist, the products finally went to the lab last year with them only just now becoming available.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the science behind skincare, and I knew there were already incredible ranges out there… the catalyst for deciding to pursue this was when we realized we could use this range as an avenue to create great skincare while also creating community awareness and real change through giving a donation for every transaction,” Lorinda shared.

A donation you say? How exactly does this work and where does your donation go? The newly launched brand has partnered with I=Change, a platform allowing businesses to work alongside development projects in Australia, facilitating a seamless donation process with every transaction donating $1 direct to one of In Practice Skincare’s chosen projects.

“When a client makes a purchase via our website, they can choose which project they would like the donation to go to…We’ve chosen to align with the following that we feel closely support our mission; Beyond Blue, Women’s Community Shelters, and Greening Australia.”

Each time you purchase an In Practice Skincare product, you do so knowing you’re actually being a part of something bigger than just skincare. The brand is also focused on being as environmentally friendly as possible by creating less waste and being a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

So, what products can you get your hands on? With the brand only just launching, you can currently order two (soon to be three) of the In Practice Skincare range. First up is the Skin Boost Serum, which has been carefully formulated to assist in promoting your skin's natural barrier functions to help you achieve glowing skin.

The Signature Hydrator has been crafted to provide nourishment and protection against external environmental stressors; with the soon-to-launch product, Deep Cleanse Gel Cleanser will refine and promote your skin’s cell turnover.

“Both our Skin Boost Serum and Signature Hydrator have been formulated to support the skin's natural barrier function. We’ve combined some of our absolute favourite results-driven active ingredients like niacinamide, beta-glucan, Kakadu plum, ceramides, peptides, and hyaluronate. Ingredients which can assist with brightening, calming reactive skins, providing antioxidant support, and hydration.”

Lorinda along with her team are currently in the development phase for a further three products which will hopefully hit the shelves in the coming 6-8 months, as well as working on a refill option for some of the range, leading into their sustainability-focused mission.
