We were housing other Australian labels but felt something was missing and so we started designing our own pieces. Eventually it took over and became the number one seller.
You might be familiar with the name Cocowillow from their Nelson Bay store, but now this mother and daughter duo have brought their fashion boutique to Newcastle.
It was 'love at first sight of the tiles' walking into their Adamstown store, a destination shop standing alone on Glebe Road (near Habitat).
Their own label, By CW, has become their number one seller and is predominantly simple linen and silk pieces with their jumpsuits becoming their customers' favourite.
"I took myself to sewing lessons, I have always designed my own clothes, had them made myself, always had a huge interest in it. And always followed Australian fashion", explains Amber.
"We are trying to stay true to us and support the Australian fashion industry".
Other labels you can expect to find in store include Casa Amuk, which is a Victorian label, Lack of Colours, Asilio, and most recently Menswear including Nana Judy.
"Guys come in a lot with their wives and girlfriends, and they would ask, 'do you have any guys stuff?' We don't do men's up in Nelson Bay, we just thought we would see how it goes here".
Cocowillow also offers an online store, but with their beautiful interiors, their shop is definitely worth the visit.
