Plant-based café in The Junction
It’s wholesome, tasty, nutritious and best of all, good for you. Pickled & Pressed on Glebe Road, The Junction is all about whole plant-based foods,
with no gluten, no extracts and no trans-fats. The menu here is all about the good stuff with none of the nasties!
As owner Alice explained, “The whole reason we exist is that we believe people and the planet can thrive together”. Sourcing much of their produce from
local farmers and backyard operations, Pickled & Pressed is aiming to become zero waste, which is hard because “people really love putting things
in plastic bags. But we’re working on it”.
Originally from Adelaide, Alice has lived in Sydney and Canberra before settling in Newcastle. She was drawn to the community here and has "now fallen in love with it and I never want to leave".
With a menu that is delicious and healthy, you can expect your breakfast staples such as Avo on Toast, Pancakes or Granola through to the more unique and unusual dishes like Quinoa Tacos or Breakfast Dahl. Paired with a selection fo cold pressed juices, kombucha, chai, teas and coffee.
Pickled and Pressed is perfect for kicking back and relaxing in their sunny courtyard whilst enjoying a meal and a coffee with a shot of turmeric (to balance the acidity) or a dash of macadamia oil.
