Escape to paradise – Newcastle to Bali flights have launched
Written by: Laura Jackel
Hunter locals can now experience what it means to fly the ‘Newy Way’ now that the inaugural flight, JQ88 operated by Jetstar, departed to Denpasar on Tuesday 21 October 2025.

Stress-free holidays
Rather than navigating hours of train or car travel down the M1 to Sydney, travellers can now make the short and stress-free journey to Newcastle Airport ahead of the less-than-six-hour flight.
A convenient drop-off point in front of the departures area and a choice of five car parks all within walking distance of the terminal mean that passengers can arrive at the airport and immediately relax into their holiday.
Once inside the spectacular new terminal building, Bali-bound ticket holders can experience a smooth check-in and security process that allows for plenty of time to sit, relax, and enjoy the views over the runway.

With no ridiculously early starts, expensive road tolls, fuel costs, traffic worries or associated stress, that exciting international holiday feeling can begin hours earlier.

While Bali might be the first overseas destination for Hunter travellers, this exciting development is all part of Newcastle Airport’s transformation into an international gateway.
Bali bliss
Whether you’re planning to experience the iconic beaches and luxury resorts of Nusa Dua or Seminyak, the lush jungle and wellness retreats of Ubud or the surf breaks at Uluwatu, access to the paradise of Bali has never been closer to the Hunter region.

From shopping at local markets to hiking in nature, cultural experiences to world-class dining, Bali has something for everyone.
With flights to Denpasar departing from and returning to Newcastle three times per week, the only thing left to do is book your online car parking for a relaxed and affordable trip to remember.
Flights depart Newcastle on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and depart from Denpasar on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Bali is calling – book now!
