Local Legend: Meet Christine Jones of the LIVEFree Project

Supporting your local community has never been more important, whether it’s ordering a coffee from your local café, checking in on your friends and family, or buying fruit and veg from your local grocer.

There are of course those people within our community who dedicate their every day, pandemic or no pandemic, to ensuring those most vulnerable are being taken care of. Christine Jones of the LIVEfree Project is one such person and has been doing so well before the pandemic hit.

Following almost 20 years of working with the community, in 2018 Chris officially launched the LIVEFree Project, which was created purely out of a desire to deliver genuine care, support, and connection to her community. Along the way Chris has built a team of supporters who have helped countless families and individuals via their on the ground support, programs, and services, some of which include;

  • Doorstep Deliveries, essential goods delivered to community members in need or those who are vulnerable due to Covid-19.
  • Inspire, an adult resilience and education program empowering women to move forward into a better life for themselves and their families.
  • Smile and Thrive Dental Program, which facilitates regular dental appointments for vulnerable primary school students.
  • Doorstep Wellbeing Visits, supporting community members who feel isolated and are not able to participate in the mental health check-ups and connection points that would normally be a part of their weekly support network due to Covid-19.
