Christ Church Cathedral Tower

Take a walk to the top of one of Newcastle's most iconic buildings

There are some jobs that really only require photos to tell the story

Which is why we set our photographer, Jerome Treize, the task of capturing one of Newcastle's most spectacular buildings and its 'Climbing the Tower' walk.

The walk itself only takes 5 mins and it's not difficult as long as you're happy to walk in a very narrow staircase with small steps.

You don't need to be fit but best be bringing a bottle of water, especially on hot days, as there's no shade at the top and the views are worth sticking around for.

The 'Climbing the Tower' walk is self-guided, there is a lady at the desk when you arrive at The Cathedral who explains where to go and how to get to the top, so it's all pretty easy.

When I asked Jerome what he enjoyed most about the walk he said,

"The room with the bells was definitely a highlight."

"And those 360-degree views of Newcastle."

Entrance to the tower is by Donations of $10 per person at the Cathedral shop and is worth every dollar.
