The iconic hotel sitting pretty in the centre of The Junction has been serving locals and visitors alike for over 15 years. Alongside their already mouth-watering menu, The Junction Hotel serves up their share plates for just $10 each and every Sunday.

In order to grab the attention of foodies wishing to explore Newcastle's diverse dining scene, the kitchen team has created a menu that suits both the casual diner and those looking for something a little more sophisticated. Now we all know that food is meant to be enjoyed, so what better way than to do exactly that with your closest family and friends? 

Can I tempt you with some Haloumi Fries with natural yoghurt, pomegranate molasses, and sumac? Maybe Tempura Zucchini Flowers are more your thing? Stuffed with hickory smoked tomato and goats’ cheese, sugo and pinenuts; you drooling yet?

For the meat lovers they’ve got it all. With a gluten free Cashew Crusted Chicken, with peanuts and chilli caramel. As well as DIY Duck Roll Ups with cucumber, shallots and hoisin sauce.

Setting eyes on 204 Corlette Street some 15 years ago owner Rolly de With could have been accused of being just a little crazy for wanting to buy the former Junction Tavern. Yet his vision and unwavering persistence to acquire the building would ultimately result in an establishment that was unlike anything Newcastle had seen before.

Many of the features you see in the hotel today, like the retractable roof, large sandstone wall and glass floor above the underground cellar took a whole lot of fighting for. Continually told by council, insurers, designers and accountants that his ideas wouldn't be possible Rolly fought on regardless, forever questioning why what he experienced in hotels overseas wasn’t being replicated in Newcastle.

Rolly doesn’t see other businesses necessarily as competitors, more allies, who are collectively wanting to improve the industry as a whole.
