The much loved eco-market that launched at The Station
in June 2019 is bringing their eco concept to the shores of Lake Macquarie.
So what can you expect from Homegrown Lake Macquarie? Similar to its Newcastle sister, Homegrown Market Speers Point will be a community gathering place
and will become a regular fun family day out that will of course have great food, drinks, activities, market stalls and most importantly market organisors
Lauren and Lewis will be continuing their focus on creating an eco-style market.
Lauren explains, 'we are continually working on the sustainability of the event and will bring to the markets our three-bin system, mug library, banning
of single-use plastics and featuring a market line up that has eco-conscious stalls only'.
Best yet, the markets will be held on a Sunday with Lauren explaining, 'we've had lots of requests from Saturday workers and people who have sporting
commitments on Saturday mornings to have a market that they can attend'.
'What we really want to encourage with Homegrown at Speers Point is for it to become a place of ownership for Lake Mac residents who can support their
own local makers'.
Homegrown will return to Speers Point Park in 2020, stay tuned for all the dates.
