With face-to-face dating feeling like a distant memory, most of us have switched to the world of online match-making. However, swiping away on dating apps can leave you out of luck with potential RSI.
Local single gals Lauren Taylor and Milly Morison want to change all that. "Often when I'm chatting to friends, the topic comes up about how hard it is to actually meet people in bars these days," Lauren says. "Apps like Tinder and Bumble have begun to wear thin, so I started thinking about how we could move away from dating apps and back into the real world of meeting single people, face-to-face."
With this in mind, they have come up with a unique event for 20s and 30s who are looking for a fun and relaxed environment to meet some Novocastrian singles. Hosted by Singles Events Newcastle, Hit the Town! is speed dating, meets pub crawl.
How it works?
Three groups of ladies and three groups of men will rotate around three different bars in Newcastle's CBD over the evening. The attendees can socialise while sipping on specially made cocktails and grazing on some delicious finger food at each bar before moving on to the next location to meet a fresh group of eligible singles. After the six groups have had a chance to meet, and hopefully capture some hearts, they will be directed to the fourth and final location for a chance to all mingle together.
On top of giving potential future partners the chance to meet, Hit the Town! is proud to support the small bars in Newcastle.
If great cocktails and great conversation sound like your cup of tea, grab your single mates or take a solo adventure for a fun-filled evening, where you might just find the love of your life.
Tickets are $95pp which includes four custom cocktails and delicious finger food throughout the evening.
