With the final season of Game of Thrones about to drop, April 14 can’t come quick enough. Finally we’ll learn the ultimate fate of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the rest of the Westerosi. The anticipation has been eased a little by those two-minute teasers but, with the plot still massively under wraps, we are literally counting down the days.
So yes, we’re massive fans and we’ll jump at any opportunity to sit around and chat with other equally obsessed Game of Thronees, which is why Thrones at 48 Watt sounds like the best night out ever!!
But just how do the team from 48 Watt plan on bringing that Game of Thrones experience to the venue? We chatted to 48 Watt Venue Manager, Gra Seaton, to
get all the ins and outs of the event.
What is Thrones?
Thrones is an immersive dinner & show event that is of course based on the hugely popular television series. The dinner is a 2 course medieval style banquet and the show involves a cast of characters from the series performing various parody scenes and interacting with guests. This all happens within a pretty realistic style setting.
There seems to be a lot of Game of Thrones themed events happening now the final season is approaching. How is Thrones different?
I guess it's more than just another theme night. It's the ultimate fan experience! We put a lot of effort into being as authentic as we can. Our goal is to really transport our guests into that world. We do a lot of styling to venue, a lot of work on costumes and props. We want people to feel like they're really there and they're part of the cast. I think most people will come dressed up!
Can you talk about the event styling and creative execution of the event?
I don't want to say too much about the creative, because I don't want to ruin the surprise. Of course we'll have an iron throne. There will be a dragon. The building really lends itself to a medieval fantasy setting. It's pretty castle like. We have a lot of experience transforming our venue into another world, and we're pretty excited about it. From stylists to actors we have the best creative crew in Newcastle working on this event.
