Support local Dungog farmers with a seasonal flower subscription
Introducing the Flower Farm Collective, a Dungog based partnership between Sugarloaf Lane and Four Acre Farms. As their name suggests they grow, harvest and arrange beautiful seasonal flowers from their farms.
These guys employ sustainable practices including composting all green waste where possible and keeping their gardens completely chemical free. This means their flowers grow organically and thrive in the fresh Dungog air outdoors.
Sugarloaf Lane is the work of Vanessa and Josh who relocated to Dungog from Sydney in 2013, and Four Acre Farm is by Newcastle-locals Tom and Dom who also happened to relocate to Dungog in 2013. After a chance meeting at the inaugural Dungog Festival a friendship developed very quickly as they discovered a common interest that had drawn them out of the city to Dungog. Over the following 18 months they worked together to increase the productivity of their farms and establish gardens, leading to the creation of the Flower Farm Collective.
By pooling resources and growing in different locations the risks of weather, pests and diseases are spread resulting in a reliable, high quality supply for the CSA shares and arrangements for weddings and events.
What is a CSA?
Community Support Agriculture, is a great way of connecting with local farmers. Basically, you pledge your support to a farmer, and in exchange you purchase a share of their harvest in advance, members are rewarded with a weekly supply of fresh blooms throughout the growing season.
What will I receive?
