Focused on living a healthier, better balanced, and more fulfilling life
When I go to any café there are always the same three things I look out for: great coffee, great food, and great service.See our handpicked guides to Newcastle
And my recent venture to the Fast Fuel Café at Newcastle's UoN NewSpace ticked all these boxes.
You don't have to be a Uni student to visit the Fast Fuel Café. And I'm not sure if it was because I was surrounded by study focused students but it proved to be the perfect place to settle in and work from for the day.
Fast Fuel was created by Chad Taylor, who has been a mentor and healthy living ambassador for many people in Newcastle.
On the menu was a wide range of freshly made and locally sourced options including poke bowls, wraps, salads, and hot meals such as beef korma, rice and veggies. I know what you're thinking, "that sounds a little too healthy". Ok, well that's what I was thinking but honestly, everything I tried was so delicious and super tasty.
Rest assured there are also sweets available as well including chocolate slices, yoghurt, and muesli.
The Fast Fuel concept is focused on "educating people about eating better, as by taking better care of yourself day to day you can start to improve your life as a whole", explains their team.
The "Food is fresh (never frozen) and prepared to order by chefs. Our Accredited Practising Dietitian Kirsty Seward, who is also about to submit her PhD in Childhood Obesity and Behavioural Science and owns her own business Revive Nutrition, works closely with our chefs to create meals that are macro balanced and portioned correctly - taking the guess work and stress out of healthy eating for our customers".
If you're a Uni student, go to the gym, or have just been researching healthy and fresh meals in Newcastle chances are you have come across the Fast Fuel brand. With 3 cafes and various pick up locations across Newcastle and The Hunter, Fast Fuel plan to open several more throughout the year.
You can also order your meals online for pick up, with home delivery due to start in March. Fast Fuel has also introduced vending machines at Singleton Army Base which will be made available to the public throughout the year. There are many exciting things happening for this Newcastle based brand, we can't wait to continue following its journey.
